Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar inspected the ongoing construction of COMSATS University Islamabad’s permanent Abbottabad campus and emphasized timely completion of the project with high-quality standards.
Abbottabad: Rector COMSATS University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, visited COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Abbottabad Campus, on June12, 2026 where he reviewed the ongoing construction work at the permanent campus site in Dhamtour and assessed the progress of the development project.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Zakir Hussain, Director CUI Abbottabad Campus, briefed the Rector on the permanent campus project, its construction progress, and the planned future development phases. The Rector inspected various sections of the construction site and reviewed the pace and quality of work. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Later, an important meeting was held at the Abbottabad Campus to discuss various administrative, academic, and development matters. The meeting was attended by Dr. Faheem Qureshi, Registrar; Mr. Azam Khan, Treasurer; Dr. Sajjad Madni, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Shahid Khattak, Dean; Mr. Aamir Yousafzai, In-charge Planning & Development (P&D); along with other senior university officials.
The participants deliberated on matters related to the development of the Abbottabad Campus, enhancement of academic and research activities, improvement of infrastructure, and future strategic initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar emphasized the importance of effective coordination and collaboration among all university departments. He stated that the provision of modern educational facilities and quality infrastructure remains among the university’s top priorities.
The Rector appreciated the efforts of the Abbottabad Campus administration and the project team working on the permanent campus development. He expressed confidence that the Dhamtour Campus, upon completion, will play a significant role in promoting higher education, research, and innovation in the region, while providing students with world-class educational facilities and opportunities.
