Abbottabad, May 22, 2025 – A comprehensive training session on the File Tracking System (FTS) was successfully conducted on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the Language Lab. The training, aimed at all academic departments and administration sections, provided participants with a thorough understanding of the FTS’s scope, purpose, and operational procedures.

The FTS is a web-based application designed to monitor the pendency of receipts and files, facilitating their easy tracking within the CUI campuses. It is an integrated package that streamlines various file management processes, from diarizing receipts and files to updating their status, opening new files, tracking movement, dispatching letters/files, and ultimately, records management. The software has been rolled out and implemented across all CUI Campuses.

Mr. Rizwan Abbasi, Software Developer from the Software House, CUI Abbottabad, led the training. He is also nominated as the focal person for any technical support and correspondence with Islamabad Campus. During the session, Mr. Abbasi guided participants through the key functionalities of the FTS. Attendees learned the step-by-step procedure for file submission, including creating a new file, printing a barcode for physical files, and sending files to other departments or users. The importance of printing daily diary records and obtaining receiving acknowledgments was also emphasized. Furthermore, participants were instructed on how to receive files sent to their department and how to close files. To illustrate the process, a test file was created and sent, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience.

The training concluded with an interactive question and answer session, addressing participants’ queries and ensuring a clear understanding of the system.
